I think Foamy's theme song should be Metallica's "Master Of Puppets." He claims to be the Master of all, so I figured, "Hey if that's how he thinks, then why shouldn't he have "Master Of Puppets" playing every time he says he is the master?"

Anyway, Si9nce Link has fought GANONDORF who uses "energy weapons" (I know it's just magic, but it's rathyer similar in some respects) I think he can handle an energy sword.
